Not every display lights up by itself – but without the right light, even the best display is ineffective. While OLEDs emit light from within, most displays such as LCDs rely on clever light control: They let light through – or block it in a targeted manner, similar to a camera shutter.
For this to work, you need the right light source: an efficient backlight unit (BLU). This is where LED technology comes into play – energy-efficient, compact, durable and economical.

The number of LEDs and light guide bodies are adapted according to the brightness requirement. The length and shape of FPC cables can be freely selected. The light guide can also serve as a design element, e.g. with retaining lugs or protective structures. ACTRON also advises on mechanical integration in order to avoid installation errors.
