LCD Technology
Alphanumeric, S/G monochrome or segmented.
Passive-matrix LCDs consist of two glass plates with transparent electrode strips that form a pixel grid. They are simple and cost-effective, but offer lower image sharpness, slower response times and less contrast than TFTs. While alphanumeric and segmented LCDs display fixed characters or digits, S/G monochrome LCDs enable freely designed graphics and texts – for example, in industrial or medical displays.

LCD - S/G Monochrome
These powerhouses have a lot to offer.
To be honest: there are many applications that don’t need a color display at all. A small monochrome graphic display, for example in 128×64 resolution, is more than sufficient. Product designers don’t really like to hear that from time to time, but that’s the way it is.
What are the characteristics of the S/G monochrome displays? What makes these displays still interesting?
It is the simplicity of these displays paired – with a large range of standards. And this usually at a very attractive price.
But also the flexibility: in the meantime, it has become very easy to have your own display manufactured according to your wishes. And this is also affordable and in a reasonable quantity.

Segmented LCD solutions are ideal for applications such as radio displays – clear, energy-saving and cost-efficient. They display the station, frequency or volume clearly legible via predefined segments and enable intuitive operation. Thanks to their simple control, long service life and robust design, they are perfectly suited for durable, price-conscious series products.

They can look as boring as the display in the calculator that is next to you on your desk. But they can also be the eye-catcher that the viewer can no longer let go of.
Together with you, we plan your segmented display. Which segments should be displayed, which technology should be used? Backlight yes or no? And how should the display be contacted to your board?
Each segmented display must be re-planned and built from scratch according to customer specifications. This takes a little longer, but then you have exactly what you want. And for many years.
