Bluetooth is the globally established radio standard for Personal Area Networks (PAN) over short distances. Thanks to its low power consumption, the technology is particularly suitable for battery-powered devices.

Typical applications include Bluetooth headphones, speakers, smartphones, smartwatches, IoT sensors and car remote controls. Bluetooth operates in the license-free 2.4 GHz ISM band, making it universally applicable.

Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE)

A completely new field of application.

With the introduction of Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), a completely new field of application opened up from version 4.0 in 2009 – energy-efficient IoT and IIoT devices. BLE enables particularly low power consumption and makes Bluetooth a key technology in the Internet of Things.
